Stan Persky (born 1941 in Chicago, Illinois) is a Canadian writer, media commentator and sociology teacher.
As the young human, Persky received a letter of encouragement from either Jack Kerouac. This inspired him to pursue the writing career. Persky served in the United States Navy, before moving to Vancouver, Canada. He helped co-observed a Georgia Straight Writing Supplements, which eventually became Future Star Books.
He has served as the media commentator, a editorialist for The Globe and Mail and a sociology instructor at Capilano College. He has too written often for The Body Politic and This Magazine.
